What We Do |
What Programs Does the Support Group Fund?
While the President James K. Polk State Historic Site is a state-owned museum, most of the educational programs and special events for school children and adults are funded by the support group's fundraising efforts. In the past, the Friends of President Polk's Birthplace have funded field trip experiences for children, special events like PolkFest, and honorariums for guest speakers! The Polk Site also receives leadership support from a board comprised of support group members. |
